Qualifications

Our client has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer in either their San Diego area or Dallas area office. This position is responsible for providing engineering services for the company throughout the preliminary design, bid design phase, final design phase, and during construction. The design engineer position will require quality control of other engineer’s work and be in responsible charge of submitted designs as needed. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Masters in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred, Professional Engineering license preferred and 3-5 years’ experience in structural design.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Understand project requirements, plans, specifications and codes to provide complete and accurate submittals.
Review of project documents with regard to design requirements for the tank and provide recommended changes to improve design and reduce cost.
Communicate with consultant engineers, suppliers and PM to resolve engineering-related questions and issues concerning the tank design in the best interest of the company and the client.
Provide sufficient quantity of high quality final tank designs based upon the complexity of the project and within established schedule.
Provide Quality Control Services for final design process. Provide a thorough quality control review for a sufficient quantity of projects that meet the high standards of the company.
Provide technical support (plan, specifications, geotechnical reviews, design, drawings, etc.) for project development team.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; minor or emphasis in structural engineering
Masters in Civil /Structural Engineering preferred
3 - 5 years of structural design experience
Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCad
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional Engineering license preferred
