This position reports to the Hub Manager Purpose of this role :&nbsp; <ul> <li>Oversee the timely, efficient, and effective operations of&nbsp;delivery drivers</li> <li>Manage drivers and delivery systems to optimize&nbsp;performance and reporting</li> <li>Ensure smooth communication and information flow&nbsp;related to parcel loading, delivery, and system issues</li> <li>Ensure adequate staffing and efficient deployment for&nbsp;daily operations</li> <li>Uphold operational standards, resolve delivery queries,&nbsp;and manage returned goods</li> <li>Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company&nbsp;policies</li> <li>Maintain vehicles, equipment, and company assets</li> <li>Promote company culture and manage staff performance and discipline</li> </ul> Your responsibilities can include: <ul> <li>It’s primary objectives therefore centres on timelines,&nbsp;efficiency and effectiveness of Drivers</li> <li>Managing the drivers and various systems to optimize&nbsp;delivery and reporting</li> <li>Ensuring that all reporting relating to various vehicles,&nbsp;last Mile and driving staff is done promptly, accurately&nbsp;and effectively</li> <li>Ensuring that the relevant chain of command is updated&nbsp;as soon as possible with any and all relevant information&nbsp;pertaining to the loading and delivery of parcels as well&nbsp;as any system issues encountered</li> <li>Ensuring that adequate staff are present and on duty for&nbsp;the daily tasks</li> <li>Ensuring that staff are efficiently tasked and effectively&nbsp;deployed</li> <li>Ensuring that all operational imperatives are being&nbsp;upheld and that any current or potential blockers are&nbsp;raised quickly and effectively to the correct people</li> <li>Ensuring returned goods are collected from Customers&nbsp;and returned to the Returns Department with the correct&nbsp;paperwork</li> <li>Ensuring that all queries relating to drivers and&nbsp;deliveries are quickly and effectively resolved</li> <li>Ensure that all Drivers sent onto the road have valid&nbsp;Drivers’ Licences and PDP’s</li> <li>Ensure that admin staff have access to all relevant data&nbsp;and detail regarding deliveries, staff clocking times,&nbsp;leave etc.</li> <li>Ensuring that any changes to deliveries that need to be&nbsp;affected by customers are done as soon as possible, as&nbsp;efficiently as possible with the relevant parties being&nbsp;informed along the way. The system needs to be&nbsp;updated appropriately as well</li> <li>Ensure that all driving staff are compliant with all&nbsp;relevant safety and security standards and procedures;&nbsp;as prescribed by the company, as well as all other&nbsp;measures detailed in the Driver’s job description and&nbsp;any other ancillary communication as given from time to&nbsp;tim</li> <li>Ensure that all drivers and assistants are correctly&nbsp;dressed in all PPE issued</li> <li>Ensure that proper staff leave planning and submissions&nbsp;are done; in line with operational necessities and any&nbsp;other parameters as prescribed by the company</li> <li>Ensure that all vehicles, hardware and/or equipment is&nbsp;maintained and looked after and is in good working&nbsp;order. Any deficiencies, need to be reported and investigated immediately.</li> <li>Ensure that all due diligence is done in order to ensure&nbsp;the safety of all parcels and equipment within the&nbsp;warehouse area, on the road</li> <li>Ensure that all loss of company assets and stock is&nbsp;minimized and that all missing items are afforded the&nbsp;appropriate diligence, in terms of tracing and finding</li> <li>Ensure that reports as requested by management are&nbsp;submitted timeously</li> <li>Ensure the Various systems are in line with the daily&nbsp;deliveries e.g. Branch Dashboard &amp;amp; Driver Dashboard</li> <li>Develop and implement effective and efficient work&nbsp;processes and procedures complying with SOP</li> <li>Supervise, coach and develop team</li> <li>Implement discipline management and performance&nbsp;management of staff up to the first written warning&nbsp;stage, when necessary</li> <li>Driving and promoting the company culture from within,&nbsp;over and above the rules and standards set out in&nbsp;various documents; thus, ensuring a workforce that is&nbsp;committed to excellence and success.</li> </ul> Inbound Operations <ul> <li>Oversee receiving, scanning, and verification of stock&nbsp;against documentation</li> <li>Ensure consolidation of multiple pieces within the multi-grid system for order completeness</li> <li>Ensure complete orders are staged accurately in&nbsp;designated sort areas</li> <li>Monitor and control receiving discrepancies, damages, and stock integrity</li> <li>Ensure all damaged items are escalated timeously via&nbsp;Zendesk</li> <li>Maintain accurate system updates and binning&nbsp;processes</li> <li>Ensure efficient dock-to-stock turnaround times</li> </ul> Outbound Operations <ul> <li>Oversee preparation of stock for book-out in line with&nbsp;dispatch requirements</li> <li>Ensure accurate booking out of stock according to driver&nbsp;routes</li> <li>Supervise loading of vehicles, including large vehicles, ensuring correct allocation</li> <li>Ensure all parcels are correctly scanned and assigned&nbsp;before dispatch</li> <li>Drive completion of book-out processes by 06:00 to meet dispatch timelines</li> <li>Monitor dispatch accuracy, delivery readiness, and fail&nbsp;rate control</li> </ul> Qualifications and experience: <ul> <li>Matric certificate</li> <li>Certificate or qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Fleet&nbsp;Management, or similar (advantageous)</li> <li>3 to 5 years’ experience in fleet control or similar supervisory&nbsp;roles</li> <li>Strong leadership and team management skills</li> <li>Punctuality and reliability</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines</li> <li>Good interpersonal and communication skills</li> <li>Knowledge of routes and geography</li> <li>Competent in computer use and common software</li> <li>Administrative skills and attention to detail</li> <li>Clean driving and criminal record</li> <li>Sober habits and willingness to work overtime as&nbsp;required</li> </ul> Attributes required : <ul> <li>Ability to lead from the front and motivate a team</li> <li>Proficient in managing delivery operations and staff</li> <li>Effective in problem solving and decision making</li> <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal</li> <li>Good organizational and administrative capabilities</li> <li>Sound understanding of safety, compliance, and vehicle&nbsp;maintenance</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced&nbsp;environment</li> </ul> Why Join TFS: <ul> <li>Purpose-driven impact: Transform lives through logistics innovation</li> <li>Advanced technology: Work with cutting-edge systems in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Career growth: Thrive in an agile space that champions continuous improvement</li> <li>Inclusive culture: Your unique perspective drives extraordinary results</li> </ul> At TFS, your growth is our growth.
