Job Description

Senior Ruby / Rails Engineer (Full Time / Direct Placement)

As a Senior Engineer on the consumer engineering team, you will:

Build intuitive, responsive experiences our millions of customers will enjoy engaging with every day.
Help customers find what they’re looking for, and discover new things across our varied suite of offers.
Find new ways for our customers to engage with us through sharing, personalization, etc.
Personalize our content to provide the most value to our customers
Optimize placement of promotions to deliver measurable ROI to merchants
Work with our shared services teams to implement and integrate with our backend platform.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

We are looking for dedicated and pragmatic engineers that enjoy building reliable and performant solutions. Well-qualified candidates will have:

3+ years of web development experience; preference given to candidates who have experience with large applications of some scale
Exceptional competency in object-oriented programming
Experience developing in a web framework, with Ruby on Rails background

You will be a great fit for the team if you enjoy:

Working across the software stack (Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/CoffeeScript, MySQL, Redis)
Deploying to production multiple times a day
Collaborating daily with your team and other groups
Working on a distributed team
Iterative and incremental development
Fixing existing production issues as much as building new solutions
Taking smart risks and championing new ideas
