Senior AI Platform Engineer

We're looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer to help build and scale the infrastructure that enables our AI and machine learning teams to develop, train, evaluate, and deploy large language models (LLMs) and other advanced AI solutions.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and platform engineering, helping create reliable, high-performance environments that support cutting-edge research and real-world product delivery.

Working closely with AI researchers, data engineers, MLOps specialists, and product teams, you'll play a key role in transforming promising AI innovations into scalable, production-ready solutions that can make a meaningful impact across healthcare.

What You'll Do

Design, build, and support the AI platform infrastructure that underpins large-scale machine learning and LLM initiatives.
Collaborate with AI research teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into scalable infrastructure solutions.
Develop and optimise cloud and on-premise compute environments, including GPU-enabled platforms.
Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of model training and inference workloads.
Help establish best practices for model lifecycle management, reproducibility, dataset versioning, and governance.
Contribute to the development and evolution of platform services that support AI experimentation and production deployment.
Work with infrastructure, data engineering, and MLOps teams to improve automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.
Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance platform capabilities and developer productivity.
Support the adoption of modern AI infrastructure tooling and engineering standards across the organisation.

What We're Looking For

Experience building, operating, or supporting large-scale AI, machine learning, cloud, or distributed systems platforms.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerised environments, and modern platform engineering practices.
Experience working with machine learning workloads and the infrastructure that supports model training and deployment.
Knowledge of AWS and infrastructure automation technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes, Slurm, Ray, or similar orchestration and distributed compute technologies.
Hands-on experience with Python and modern software engineering practices.
Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and improve the efficiency of complex workloads.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and research teams.
A passion for solving complex technical challenges and building platforms that enable others to innovate.

Nice to Have

We'd be particularly interested in candidates who have experience with one or more of the following:

Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI platforms.
GPU infrastructure and optimisation.
PyTorch and distributed training frameworks.
LLM inference technologies such as vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, NVIDIA NIM, or similar tools.
Model optimisation techniques including quantisation, LoRA, mixed precision training, and inference optimisation.
Knowledge graphs and large-scale data platforms.
High-performance computing (HPC) environments.
