As a Senior EHS Consultant, you will be the trusted advisor clients turn to when it matters most. You will guide organizations through evolving EHS regulations and best practices, helping them build safer workplaces, reduce risk, and operate more sustainably. You will dig into data to uncover insights that drive measurable improvements in safety performance, and you will stay ahead of regulatory changes so your clients always do too. Beyond advising, you will take the lead on designing and delivering industrial hygiene projects, and you will mentor fellow EHS Consultants, helping grow the skills and expertise of the team around you. This role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing clients onsite. Essential Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Evaluate novel compounds and well-evaluated hazards for occupational exposure risks, applying the occupational exposure banding (OEB) process to classify hazard levels and determine appropriate controls.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Develop and implement industrial hygiene sampling plans autonomously, selecting appropriate methodologies (NIOSH, OSHA, ACGIH) based on direct observation of pharmaceutical manufacturing and life sciences processes.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Analyze sampling data and independently make recommendations for engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment based on findings.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Measure occupational and environmental hazards, such as noise and ergonomics, using calibrated scientific equipment and/or collecting samples of dust, vapors, or gases according to defined operating procedures.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Assess the effectiveness of engineering control systems, including fume hoods, containment enclosures, and local exhaust ventilation systems, in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Conduct workplace safety inspections evaluating the use of personal protective equipment, such as respirators, protective eyewear, and other required PPE appropriate to pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, in accordance with applicable regulations.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Identify potential physical and health hazards, such as toxic vapors, mold, mildew, and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures, such as adjustments to ventilation systems.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Investigate accidents and injuries, identifying root causes and recommending remedial actions.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Communicate with client personnel regarding workplace safety issues, recommending corrective actions.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Assist in the development of occupational health and safety systems, including drafting or updating policies, procedures, and manuals specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Facilitate and document Job Hazard Analyses, evaluating risk and prioritizing Industrial Hygiene Assessments accordingly.</li> </ul> Basic Requirements <ul> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">4+ years of hands-on industrial hygiene experience.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Demonstrated experience with making recommendations on appropriate controls required to reduce exposure potential in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Proven ability to develop and execute industrial hygiene sampling plans independently, with the confidence to make autonomous recommendations based on direct process observation.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience managing ergonomics programs.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related scientific field.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Ability to remain calm and effective in dynamic, high-stakes environments.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Familiarity with cGMP environments and pharmaceutical manufacturing quality standards.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Completed two or more industry-recognized trainings (OSHA 10 or 30, ABSA, HAZWOPER, DOT/IATA HAZMAT Transportation).</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;
