Associate Director, Product Manager - Political & Public Affairs

\n Build It. Shape It. Scale It. IQM is an intelligent media buying and audience platform built for advertisers operating in complex and highly regulated markets. For more than a decade, our political platform has combined audience intelligence, voter data, identity resolution, media planning, programmatic activation, optimization, measurement, and compliance capabilities to serve political campaigns, agencies, committees, advocacy organizations, and public-affairs practitioners. Job Opportunity IQM is seeking a strategic, hands-on Associate Director of Product Management to lead our Political vertical, with a mandate to build what comes next. For more than a decade, IQM has helped campaigns, agencies, committees, and advocacy groups reach voters during election cycles. In this role, you will own the political product strategy and roadmap, and your primary focus will be building new, year-round product lines for public affairs, advocacy, and issue campaigns: the organizations working to move legislation, shape policy, and reach decision makers and the people who influence them, every month of the year, not just in October of an election year. You'll spend real time with public affairs firms, advocacy organizations, trade associations, political agencies, and our own political sellers, and you'll form a clear point of view on where the market is underserved. You'll turn that point of view into new products, take them from zero to one, and work with distributed engineering, data science, and design teams across North America and India to ship them, while keeping IQM's election products strong. This role is ideal for someone who has worked inside the political or public affairs ecosystem, has built something new rather than only managed what existed, and wants to create a durable, non-cyclical business inside a market leader. This is the first product leadership role dedicated to IQM's public affairs and advocacy expansion. This role is hybrid, meaning team members are expected to work one to two days per week in person at one of the office locations in either NY/DC. At this time, IQM does not sponsor new applicants for employment authorization for this position. What You'll Do Public Affairs & Advocacy Product Lines: Define and build IQM's next political product lines for public affairs, advocacy, issue campaigns, and government relations. Size the opportunity, identify the buyers and their workflows, and take the first products from concept to paying customers. Political Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own the vision, multi-year strategy, and roadmap for IQM's political portfolio, balancing new year-round lines with continued strength in election-cycle products. Decide where IQM should build, partner, or improve what already exists. Market and Customer Discovery: Run structured discovery with public affairs firms, advocacy organizations, trade associations, political agencies, media buyers, and IQM's political sellers. Separate recurring market needs from one-off requests, and bring an independent read of the market back to the team. Data & Audience Products: Shape the data foundation for issue and influence campaigns: voter, legislative, issue, stakeholder, and geographic data, and how it becomes activatable audiences. Evaluate data quality and assess potential data partners. Roadmap and Prioritization: Turn customer and market problems into clear requirements, use cases, acceptance criteria, and success metrics. Prioritize on evidence: customer impact, revenue potential, feasibility, compliance risk, and timing around legislative and election calendars. Compliance by Design: Build political advertising rules, disclosure requirements, lobbying and issue-advocacy considerations, state-specific regulations, and platform policies into product design from the start, working with Legal and Compliance early. Execution with Distributed Teams: Lead products from discovery through release and adoption, working closely with engineering, data science, design, and QA teams across North America and India. Give teams the context and clarity to move quickly without waiting on you. Performance and Adoption: Define success metrics, track adoption, revenue, and customer outcomes, and partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Marketing so new lines become real, repeatable revenue. Who You Are 8+ years of experience across political or public affairs technology, data, digital media, advertising technology, or product management, with the most recent 3 to 5 years owning product strategy and roadmap at a senior or director level. Direct experience in the political, advocacy, public affairs, or government relations ecosystem. You understand how these organizations plan campaigns, use data, and buy media. A builder: you can point to a product, platform, data capability, or business line you took from zero to one, and the outcomes it drove. A track record of defining what needs to be built, setting the execution plan, and delivering it with engineering teams, including teams in other locations and time zones. Comfortable in front of customers. You can lead a discovery conversation with a public affairs firm or campaign team and walk away with a point of view, not just a list of requests. Experience in a regulated, deadline-driven environment where errors carry real consequences. Analytical, organized, and comfortable making sound decisions with incomplete information. Clear written and verbal communicator across technical, commercial, and executive audiences. We're Excited If You Have Experience at a public affairs firm, advocacy technology platform, government relations or legislative intelligence company, political agency, or voter data provider. Experience with programmatic advertising, DSPs, or audience and identity products. Experience working through at least one major election cycle in a digital, data, or technology role. Experience evaluating and integrating data, identity, or measurement partners. Familiarity with political advertising disclosure rules, issue-advocacy regulations, and state-by-state differences. Hands-on technical curiosity: SQL, APIs, analytics tools, or prototyping. Working at IQM At IQM, we believe that happy, healthy employees are the key to our success!
