Luminis TTitle:&nbsp; Manager- ED Mental Health Consultants and Mental Health Social Work Department:&nbsp; Luminis Health- Behavioral Health at ED Reports To:&nbsp; 20000-50109-002004 Cost Center/Job Code: 30001-41027-002154 FFLSA Status:&nbsp; Exempt Position Objective: This position oversees staffing patterns, performance and evaluation of mental health consultants, Behavioral Health Placement and McNew Patient Access Supervisor, and the behavioral health community navigator in the LHAAMC and LHDCMC Emergency Department. This position requires frequent travel between Annapolis, Lanham, and McNew campuses to provide effective program evaluation of care and leadership visibility. This position works collaboratively with the inpatient mental health unit leaders to provide social work program evaluation for both the inpatient psychiatric units at LHDCMC and LH McNew Medical Center, to ensure excellent and harmonized care delivery. Manages teams in all locations to provide expert direct care to patients, families and family systems and provides direct clinical assessment or supervision when necessary.&nbsp; Serves as a liaison with administrative and clinical representatives of the Emergency Department and the Division of Behavioral Health and Substance Use. Fully utilizing allotted resources, this position develops a comprehensive mental health program to meet the needs of the patients, families, and stakeholders served. Oversee interviews for new team members and set appropriate expectations for performance. 3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensures proper education and evaluation of new staff.&nbsp; Facilitates human resource management to include performance evaluation, disciplinary action, orientation, acquisition of staff, and staff development objectives in collaboration with team leads. 4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Participates in goal setting and prioritization through a collaborative approach with team members, nurses, physicians, leaders. Functions as an expert resource in mental health to clinicians, nursing and medical staff.&nbsp; Coordinates patient care with all disciplines for hospitalized and ED patients in need of psychiatric assessments and/or placement. 5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in the emergency department and on the mental health inpatient units to effect continuous improvement in the delivery of patient/family centered care.&nbsp; Assumes consistent leadership in the evaluation of patient care recommendations for cost-containment, clinical practice and improvements in quality of care. Promotes organizational improvement activities related to behavioral health and social work care. 6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Collaborates with leaders of the Behavioral Health Division to improve continuum of care for patients presenting to LHAAMC, LHDCMC, and LH McNew with mental health and substance use treatment needs. Develops and monitors quality metrics for care and services to patients and families of Luminis Health. Gathers and presents data with the goal of improving delivery of care across continuum of services provided by the Behavioral Health Division. Collects, analyzes, and reports data required for local and state behavioral health reporting requirements. 7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Serves as social work clinical expert. Collaborates with inpatient mental health unit leaders to monitor and evaluate the quality and the appropriateness of social services furnished on the inpatient psychiatric units at LH McNew Medical Center and LH DCMC. Ensures the provision of services is in line with standards of practice for social work and mental health counseling. 8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Collaborates with teams to maintain compliance with local, state, federal and Joint Commission requirements. 9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Accepts and discharges additional responsibilities as needed and required to meet division and organizational objectives. Educational/ Experience Requirements: ·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Five years of clinical experience with demonstrated clinical diagnostic competency. ·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Two years of proven clinical leadership with direct responsibility for the provision and evaluation of mental health and social services. Required License Certifications: ·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Required License/Certifications:&nbsp; LCSW-C &nbsp; There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
