The Controller is responsible for managing the accounting and finance functions of Tadco. This includes assisting executive-level management and accounting staff with accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting, as well as coordinating the accounting / financial activities of the organization which include revenue administration; expense administration; account reconciliations; liquidity needs; external audit requirements; compliance; internal controls; and innovating the business to improve efficiencies, processes, and procedures. This role also serves as a consultant for other managers and supervisors within the organization, advising them of current financial information and working with managers to create an appropriate financially supported strategy that aligns with the goals of the organization. Must be comfortable working in a sometimes ambiguous environment. About TADCO TADCO Roofing and Waterproofing is a Texas commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor with offices in Houston and Edinburg and a workforce of more than 300 employees. We install, repair, and maintain roofing and waterproofing systems for general contractors, building owners, and public sector clients across Texas. Responsibilities: · Responsible for supervising the accounting processes, procedures, and entries of the company, including the preparation of complete and accurate monthly financial reports with variance analysis. · Review and ensure the accuracy of the work of the team aligned within the business function to perform accounting and finance activities. · Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting and financial analysis. · Develop and monitor policies, systems, practices, special reports and financial analysis, etc. of various levels of importance and application. · Advise management on matters of financial procedure and importance for the organization. · Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization. · Responsibilities include supervising, assigning, reviewing, and participating in the work of employees relative to accounting, financial reporting, maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and investment management, and other activities commensurate with the finance function of the organization. · Ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures. · Perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. · Analyze and resolve complex financial issues and prepare complex financial statements and operating reports. · Perform complex financial analysis and account reconciliations. · Review/approve/post journal entries, prepare and interpret financial reports. · Serve as an Accounting liaison to internal and external customers. Requirements: · Knowledge of and adherence to pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations. · Knowledge of and adherence to U.S. GAAP and related accounting standards. · Knowledge of and experience with auditing principles, practices, rules and regulations. · Deep knowledge of construction related accounting principles and applications · Manages all aspects of complex financial projects from inception to conclusion. · Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. · Provide strong and credible leadership for staff, setting a unified direction for the team and ensuring priorities are clearly communicated. · Provide thought leadership to cultivate a high performing team and customer centric culture. · Train, develop and motivate the team in skills, quality control methodologies, and accounting knowledge, teamwork and time management.
