Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to patients via the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other health care team members.

This is a Labor and Delivery specialization position. These nurses help care for patients before, during, and after pregnancy up until both the mother and child are ready to go home. Typical duties of a labor and delivery nurse include: interpreting the fetal heart rate, cervical change, status of the patient, initiating inductions, assisting the laboring patient with pain control, and acting as primary caregiver for both the mother and child after birth.

These specific openings will require you to float PostPartum as needed by the hospital.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
-One year recent (within the last 3 years) experience in L&D.

-2 years Experience - Antepartum experience is required.

-Current California RN License is required.

- AWONN Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate

Certifications:
Current BLS required must be issued by American Heart.
Current ACLS required must be issued by American Heart.
Current NRP required.
