Job Description

Helps elderly female client by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring.

•Provides client’s personal hygiene by giving baths, backrubs, shampoos; helping with showers and baths; assisting with daily exercise (range of motion); mental activities (i.e. bingo and word search puzzles)

• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals and providing fresh water and nourishment (daily medication and vitamin regiments) between and during meals.

• Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths.

• Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; recording intake and output information.

• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting client to doctor appointments; reporting observations of client’s to family member

• Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.

• Protects client's value by keeping patient information confidential.

• Light Housekeeping: wash dishes; sweep/mop/ vacuum floor; clean bathroom and mirror; change linen; wash clothes; etc.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.

Qualifications

Multi-tasking, Teamwork, Bedside Manner, Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Caregiver Skills, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Informing Others, Judgment, Pain Management. CNA must speak English and have their own transportation.

Must have current Certified Nurse Assistance certification (no exception)

Must have current CPR and First Aide

Good to have dementia/alz expereince
