Periodic scheduled after-hours work for patching and reboots North Point Technology is hiring a Senior Oracle DBA to support enterprise database operations at the Government Publishing Office. You will own the health, performance, and availability of GPO's Oracle environment across on-prem and cloud systems. What you'll do: <ul> <li>Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including Oracle Grid and RMAN backup and recovery</li> <li>Lead patching cycles, software installs, and server maintenance</li> <li>Design and test HA/DR and point-in-time recovery</li> <li>Tune performance at the optimizer and storage level</li> <li>Troubleshoot database and application-level issues, including SharePoint integrations</li> <li>Work RFCs and ServiceNow tickets from submission to closeout within SLAs</li> <li>Monitor capacity and system health with Idera and SolarWinds</li> <li>Mentor the mid-level Oracle DBA and deliver weekly activity reports</li> </ul> What you need: <ul> <li>8+ years of Oracle database administration experience</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Oracle Grid, RMAN, PL/SQL, and HA/DR</li> <li>Working knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access</li> <li>Experience creating and managing standalone Oracle databases</li> <li>Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical staff and management</li> </ul> Preferred: <ul> <li>Oracle certification (OCP or OCM)</li> <li>OCI experience</li> <li>Federal or large enterprise support background</li> </ul> </div> <div class="content-conclusion">North Point Technology is THE BEST place to work for curious-minded engineers motivated to support our country’s most crucial missions!&nbsp; We focus on long term projects, leveraging the latest technology in support of innovative solutions to solve our customer’s most difficult problems.
