(Senior) Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d) (Linux & RTOS)

To achieve the precision and scalability required for modern IoT solutions, we build a full stack of software components, including firmware, backend, and frontend applications.</p> <p>Join our team to scale existing solutions and create innovative KINEXON products in close collaboration with colleagues from our software and hardware departments.</p> <h3>YOUR QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <p>We are looking for a mid-level or senior embedded software engineer with experience developing Linux and RTOS-based systems:</p> <ul> <li>Linux development & system programming, u-boot, device tree & drivers, or kernel modules</li> <li>Embedded Linux build environment: Poky (Yocto Project, OpenEmbedded, BitBake) is a plus</li> <li>Hardware interfaces such as GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet</li> <li>Embedded security concepts (image signing, encryption, secure updates)</li> <li>Experience with automated firmware, hardware-in-the-loop and integration testing</li> <li>Very good English skills and the ability to collaborate in an international engineering environment</li> </ul> <div>Additional experience that would be an advantage:</div> <ul> <li>Variscite or similar ARM platforms</li> <li>Bitbake as build automation tool</li> <li>Lowlevel MCU programming</li> <li>FreeRTOS/Zephyr or comparable RTOS environments</li> <li>Radio protocols</li> </ul> <h3>YOUR TASKS</h3> <p>As an Embedded Software Engineer in our RTLS team, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain software for our RTLS anchors and sensors</li> <li>Design and implement embedded Linux and FreeRTOS applications</li> <li>Integrate hardware components and communication interfaces</li> <li>Develop and maintain device drivers and Linux kernel modules where required</li> <li>Implement secure software deployment and update mechanisms</li> <li>Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability</li> <li>Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing</li> <li>Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, backend, and product teams</li> </ul> <h3>OUR TECH STACK</h3> <p>We develop software across the entire embedded stack, from firmware to Linux-based edge devices.
