Job Description

JOB FUNCTION 
This position’s basic function is to support the Company and the Accounting Department by performing full cycle accounting duties for a set of P&L locations. Closing activities will include journal entry postings, data analysis, reporting, as well as special projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed describe main responsibilities of this job. Specific duties or tasks may vary, according to business necessity. 
Monitoring and management of certain general ledger accounts, including understanding of business transactions that impact the account. 
Helping the operating team understand their numbers and being an integral part of finding value added solutions that remove costs and complexity. 
Preparing account reconciliations for general ledger accounts. 
Preparing monthly journal entries with associated support. 
Performing detailed data analysis of certain data/information. 
Preparing, enhancing and creating reports for management on a weekly or monthly basis. 
Supporting process improvement initiatives in various areas, where needed, by partnering and supporting non-finance areas (e.g. merchandising, supply chain and operations). 
Providing back up for other Staff Accountants. 
Supporting special projects.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

BS Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment, preferably with multi-unit accounting
Motivated self-starter with a sense of urgency and pride in his/her work. 
Proven ability to work collaboratively across various business functions and departments. 
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing in English. 
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills required including ability to extract data from various systems for efficient analysis.
Experience with other data analysis tools highly desirable.
