These sentiments capture why we choose Riskified every day.&nbsp; &nbsp; <h2>About the Role</h2> As an Engineering Manager at Riskified, you’ll lead a team of experienced engineers building real-time decisioning systems that protect merchants from abuse, such as fraudulent refunds and returns. This team plays a central role as Riskified continues to expand its merchant offerings. You'll work closely with Product, and with Data Science, Analytics, data platform and operations teams. We're looking for a leader who cares about high-scale distributed systems, reliability and clean design, and who can bring focus to a domain with many stakeholders. You should also be an AI enthusiast who's eager to use AI in the product, across the development lifecycle and in how the team is managed. Our Tech Stack: Kubernetes, Node.js / TypeScript (NestJS), Kafka, Avro, gRPC, AWS, PostgreSQL, Aerospike, Redis, Databricks, Claude Code <h2>What You'll Be Doing</h2> <ul> <li>Lead the team in delivering high-quality products to production, and own the health of business-critical, real-time services.</li> <li>Scale the product as it grows into new use cases, merchants and integrations.</li> <li>Work with Product Managers to shape the roadmap and turn business opportunities into clear plans.</li> <li>Partner with Data Science, analytics and data platform teams so that models and data move reliably between research and production.</li> <li>Align priorities and dependencies across teams, including the operational teams that serve our merchants.</li> <li>Find and adopt AI-driven tools and methods that make the team more productive and the product more capable.</li> <li>Mentor senior engineers, give them real ownership and grow future technical leaders.</li> <li>Provide consultation and solutions to customers and management on real business problems.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Must: 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers who run services in production.</li> <li>Must: 7+ years of hands-on experience developing high-scale backend distributed systems or microservices.</li> <li>Experience leading senior, experienced engineers, and the technical depth to guide architecture and design discussions.</li> <li>A strong track record of working with many stakeholders across functions, especially Product and Data Science.</li> <li>AI enthusiast: A proven interest in emerging AI tools and a track record of using them to improve workflows or products.</li> <li>Experience working in an Agile environment with a full CI/CD and DevOps culture.</li> <li>Experience with cloud-native microservices, SaaS environments and event-driven architectures.</li> <li>Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li>B.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree or experience.</li> </ul> Advantages <ul> <li>Background in fraud, risk, e-commerce or payments.</li> <li>Experience with data-intensive or ML-driven products, such as working alongside Data Science.</li> <li>Experience working with large enterprise customers.</li> </ul> <h2>Life at Riskified</h2> We are a fast-growing and dynamic tech company with 750+ team members globally.
