You will own essential parts of the operating system layer, support new hardware and give application teams a stable, secure foundation. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later. As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. What you will do

Perform board bring up and hardware focused fault isolation. Develop or adapt device drivers and low level services. Build reproducible images with Yocto or Buildroot. Strengthen update, networking and security mechanisms. Improve diagnostics, performance and long term maintainability. What you will bring

Strong C or C plus plus programming ability. Knowledge of kernel interfaces, drivers and hardware debugging. Production experience with Yocto or Buildroot. Understanding of networking and embedded security. Experience that would add value

Secure boot, OTA updates or trusted execution. Experience bringing a new hardware generation into production. A background that can succeed here
